Hand-Building Clay Class with Natty Moss Bond at SHAMc
Beginning Tuesday May 7th, 2024

Class Dates: May 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th
Afternoon Class: 1-3:30pm
Evening Class: 6-8:30pm
​$175 per session all materials included

Hand-building with Natty Moss Bond is an educational and entertaining journey in basic ceramics hand building techniques. In this course, whether experienced or a beginner, you will certainly learn new techniques to enhance your practice or get the foundations to let your creativity soar. Each class will have a basic theme connected with a project. Your approach can be as simple or sophisticated as your individual level allows. Once you have completed a full 4 week session, you are then free to attend any Tuesday afternoon or evening time as an “open studio” participant. Open studio is $15 per hour, which includes all material, clay, glazes, tools, etc and firing.

May 7th - Concept: Intro to clay, hand-building processes, slab and texturing techniques

Project: Push Pots and/or pinch pots

May 14th - Concept: clay attaching processes, clay stamping, texture pressing, bisque firing, information and surface finishing, and functional hand-building

Project: Mug, cup and/or vase

May 21st - Concept: Intro to glazing and under-glazing, surface design, clay folding

and final firing information

Project: Folded bowls and glazing

May 28th - Concept: Continued glazing techniques

Project: Finish up all existing projects

Is parking available?

Street parking available except where curbs are painted yellow. Some city lots nearby. Do not park in the Gigglewaters parking lot adjacent to Daydreamers Cafe. You may be towed.

Is there Food Available on site?

Snacks available, chips, crackers, cookies. Many downtown restaurants and bars near by. You may also bring food to venue.

Are drinks available?

Yes, beer, wine, canned cocktails and N/A drinks available for purchase.

Can I bring my dog, cat or chicken to SHAMc?

Sorry no pets allowed. Only approved service animals permitted inside venue.

Are all supplies included?

Yes, unless otherwise communicated via email or in class description.
